Terms and Conditions

Thank you for snapping and sharing your favourite bit of Redcar & Cleveland. By submitting your photo, you are agreement to the following rules:

1. To Enter

   Entry is free. To enter, simply send us your photos of a location within the borough of Redcar & Cleveland (your “Entry”). Your Entry must include a statement telling us about the photo in no more than 10 words by completing the sentence “This is…”. Your Entry must also include your name, address, phone number and email address, so we can contact you. All entries must be submitted after 10 May 2008 and must reach us by 9 June 2008.

2. Submission of Entries

   Entries can be submitted online at thisisallyours.co.uk or by post to: In the Picture, Enterprise Team, Redcar Station Business Centre, Station Road, Redcar, Cleveland, TS10 1RD. Unfortunately we are unable to return any hard copy photographs you send to us.

3. Free Prize Draw

   All entries will be entered into a free prize draw. The randomly selected winner will win an “experience day” worth £250.

4. Best Shots

   All Entries will also be considered by our judges for our best shots competition. Our judges will select 10 finalists and one overall winner. The panel of judges will be made up of independent members and their decision will be final. All 10 finalists will be invited to attend the presentation event where the overall winner will be presented with a prize package (including a digital camera), the opportunity to undertake photography work with the Evening Gazette and coverage on thisisallyours.co.uk.

5. Winner Announcement

   The winners will be selected on 13th June. The winners of the Prize Draw and Best Shots competition will be announced at the presentation event on 19 June 2008. All winners need to be available on between 13th June and 19th June for press coverage and at the presentation event on 19 June 2008.

6. Use of Entries

   By submitting your Entry you are giving the Promoters free of charge permission to use your Entry in any way they want and to permit others to do the same. For example, your entry may displayed on the thisisallyours.co.uk website and on other websites, printed in the Evening Gazette or used in exhibitions or other campaigns organised by the Promoters and other third parties. Copyright in your Entry will remain with you and the permission you give to the Promoters is not exclusive so you can continue to use your entry in any way, including by permitting others to use it. We will normally try and show your name when we use your Entry (unless you ask us not to) but you agree that this may not always be possible.

7. Right to Use Entries

   You agree that your Entry is your own original work and does not infringe any UK laws and that you have the right to give the Promoters the permissions stated above. You also agree that you have obtained the consent of anyone who is identifiable in your Entry or the consent of their parent or guardian if they are under 16. We cannot guarantee that all entries will be displayed on thisisallyours.co.uk or used by the Promoters.

8. Eligibility

   If you are under 18 you must obtain the consent of your parent or guardian before taking part in this Promotion. The Promotion is not open to any employee of the Promoters or any member of their household. There is a limit of 10 Entries per person. Responsibility cannot be accepted for Entries lost, damages or delayed in transit. Proof of posting will not be accepted as proof of receipt. Correspondence will only be entered into at the absolute discretion of the Promoters.

9. Data Privacy

   The Promoters may keep your name and contact details so that they can administer this Promotion and use your Entry as permitted under these rules. You agree that the Promoters may contact you at any time for further information about your Entry. You accept that, if you win, the Promoters will have the right, without payment or permission, to use your name, age, town of residence and likeness for the purposes of announcing the winner and for related promotional purposes.
