Your Enterprise Team will be visiting venues across Redcar & Cleveland from May 2008 to let you know about the specific support and funding opportunities to increase business and enterprise activity in the borough.

The Enterprise Team will offer a range of services designed to:

• give young people the chance to experience and explore what it means to be enterprising
• help people, young and old, to start their own businesses
• support existing local businesses to grow and make more money
• set social enterprises on the path to self-sustainability
• create more jobs by encouraging businesses outside the borough to relocate or invest here

This unprecedented level of investment in the area has come from the Government’s Local Enterprise Growth Initiative (LEGI) so there are some official rules that guide exactly what kind of support we can deliver in different areas.

But overall the work of the local Enterprise Team will provide opportunities and benefits for people all over the borough. This means greater employment opportunities, more enterprising schools, more support for local businesses, and an increase in tourism and inward investment that will create an overall more prosperous and enterprising community.

This is why the services of your local Enterprise Team are being promoted as part of a wider campaign to showcase and celebrate everything that Redcar & Cleveland has to offer to local residents and businesses, but also to potential investors and visitors to the region.
